The construction of the authorized training system is deeply entrenched, and it has resisted and coopted reform efforts for many years. There are numerous components perpetuating the system including the annual US News ranking tournament, excessive priority for doctrinal instruction, robust college specialization, and tenure, among others. Elayne Greenberg and Noam Ebner argue that lawyers will more and more need skills utilizing technology and on-line communication as their interactions with courts, shoppers, and others become technologically mediated.
